Professor Ming Qingzhong is an accomplished scholar and leader in tourism and cultural studies. He currently serves as the Chief Professor, Dean of the Institute of Tourism Culture Industry, and Director of the Tourism Planning Center at Yunnan University of Finance and Economics. He is also the Chief Scientist of the Cultural and Tourism Industry and Overall Development Philosophical Innovation Team and the Tourism Industry Development Philosophical Research Base. Additionally, he is an Academic Leader of both the Tourism Reform and Innovation Provincial University Innovation Team and the Low Latitude Plateau and Regional Development Yunnan Provincial Innovation Team. A recipient of multiple honors, including being named an Outstanding Social Science Expert in Yunnan, he has been recognized for his contributions to the academic and technical leadership in provincial universities.
Previously, Professor Ming was the Founding Dean of the School of Tourism and Geography Sciences at Yunnan Normal University, Director of the Tourism Planning Center, and founding director of the Provincial Key Laboratory of "Highland Geography and Environmental Change." He has led over 40 national and provincial projects, including those funded by the National Science and Technology Support Program, and has been involved in planning over 120 tourism industry projects across various regions, including Lijiang, Shangri-La. With more than 40 books and 400 academic papers to his name, Professor Ming’s work has earned him numerous accolades, including national and provincial awards for teaching and research, as well as recognition as an Outstanding Teacher in Higher Education.
