Christopher Gaffney
Christopher Gaffney is a Professor and director of Travel and Tourism Research Collaboratory. in the Tisch Center for Hospitality in the School of Professional Studies at New York University. He received his doctoral degree in geography at University of Texas at Austin. He has taught in Taiwan, Brazil, Switzerland, and at several universities in the United States. His research focuses on the intersection of urban studies and sports mega-events. Fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Latin American Geography from 2014-2018. He is a world-famous public speaker and has appeared in a slew of documentary films. He is often quoted in the world´s leading media outlets such as BBC, Reuters, Times of London, Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, NPR, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, CBS, NBC, HBO, CCTV (China), Associated Press and so on.
