Sichuan Tourism University News Network （Correspondent:ChenXinyao）On 2 June, the 2026 Belt and Road Overseas Chinese Cooperation and Development Conference launched in Chengdu. The summit gathered almost 700 delegates from 120 countries and territories worldwide. The College of Language, Culture, and International Communication at Sichuan Tourism University (SCTU) was invited to join the trade forum titled Overseas Chinese Supporting Global Expansion for Enterprises and Local Products and deliver volunteer support throughout the event.

To guarantee smooth and organized business matching sessions, the College recruited 36 outstanding student volunteers majoring in Business English, Japanese, French and International Chinese Education. The team took charge of meeting minute-taking and on-site guidance for both domestic and foreign delegates. Equipped with strong multilingual proficiency and careful documentation skills, the volunteers performed their roles calmly and responsibly, showcasing remarkable professionalism and earning positive feedback from conference organizers.

Collegerepresentatives held talks with overseas Chinese business leaders, including the president of the Veneto Overseas Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the president of the Milan Overseas Chinese Entrepreneurs Association (Italy), alongside the Chongqing chief representative of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and French overseas Chinese entrepreneurs. The College shared its core advantages in culinary arts and cultural tourism and secured initial cooperation agreements covering industry-education integration, international study tour programs and overseas student recruitment. This dialogue has helped broaden SCTU’s Belt and Road partnership network across Southeast Asia and Europe.

Attendance at this summit marks another tangible action taken by the College of Language, Culture, and International Communication to deliver the development vision outlined at SCTU’s Third Party Congress and advance the university’s internationalization-driven development strategy. Moving ahead, the College will keep drawing on the university’s flagship strengths in world-class culinary and high-standard tourism disciplines. It will actively pursue new overseas collaborative schemes, develop globally oriented teaching resources, and bring SCTU’s expertise to support Sichuan’s high-standard opening to the world.
